Get to Know Me

My name is Steven and I have been working with and studying dogs for over 12 years. My journey with dogs began when I fostered for a dog rescue, she had suffered a lot of trauma in her life and came with some issues. I really wanted to help this dog and so I began taking some basic courses and learning how to train dogs, we soon built a bond, and she came on leaps and bounds from then on.
Fast forward a couple years down the line, I found myself taking on another foster. This dog would test me to my absolute limit, a Romanian street dog who was almost feral. I was able to help to a point as a qualified dog trainer however, this dog had severe fear aggression, and this would require behaviour modification. I learned a lot from the experts affiliated with the rescue and after a lot of time, consistent training, and a lot of patience he was able to be placed in a suitable home. It was from here I would begin to study dog behaviour.
After a few years of study and working with dogs I qualified in dog psychology and behaviour, when we talk about modifying a dog’s behaviour it is important to understand the psychology behind it. Through careful assessment we can find out what factors are involved in a dog’s behaviour only after identifying these factors can we then begin to address modifying the behaviour. I have spent the last 7 years developing my skills by staying up to date with new studies and working with a multitude of dog behaviours, my understanding of dog behaviour never falls behind standard. My method when working with clients is easy to understand and simple to apply, having a dog should not be stressful and my methods will ensure both dog and owner are stress free.
